Feelings of oppression are what happen when you aren't allowed the opportunity to fail. Often they're unjustified, because individual instances of gatekeeping are valid, and failure would have happened if let in. Sometimes they're justified, because failure wouldn't have occurred
"The squeaky wheel gets the grease" commodifies squeakiness, which becomes trivial to forge; but most forgeries are forgeries of ignorance, not of malice. The bad drives out the good without bad faith entering into it for the most part. You don't know what you don't know.
