It's true though, why do you think those small elite groups on each side have uniformly used/accepted the term 'useful idiot'? Furthermore, the flames are kept fanned by rival nations in order to destabilize us and just as a kind of payback for our numerous interventions.
The belief that your political enemies are uniformly evil is ignorant of human nature and the nature of virtue. To be evil requires knowledge of the superior and willful disregard of it. Only a small elite in every group possess such knowledge or even the ability to possess it.
