I don't believe intelligent people are capable of managing other people's lives. I also don't believe unintelligent people are capable of managing other people's lives. This is why I don't believe democracy is a solution to the problems of elitism.

there is a similar problem here which traits should be selected for, and in which populations? that's (meta) elitism again unless you're just advocating elitism, which is also some people's position
I'm a cognitive elitist, even though I myself am no longer part of the cognitive elite. But there are many forms of excellence. Markets do a good job of rewarding the variation in excellence. The extent the cognitive elite are not rewarded it is mostly intervention related
