Capitalism makes the rules of society more explicit and legible. Therefore, capitalism benefits people who benefit from the rules of society being explicit and legible, and harms those who benefit from the rules of society being opaque. Much follows from this.

Disagree. Capitalism does not require rules of society. Democracies/republics impose rules to govern the least scrupulous among us. Most powerful then use influence and levers of democracies/republics to create rules to protect themselves and impede competition.
Perhaps I should have said that capitalism tends to make incentives and interests more apparent. "Rules of society" might be too strong a way of phrasing it.

I see your point generally, but some people never get to avail themselves favorably of capitalist system existing around them regardless of their preference whether incentives and interests are transparent. Latin America has plenty of examples. Society must nurture capitalism.
