The notion that no story can be good without a deeply flawed protagonist or anti-hero is just absolute garbage and a pet peeve of mine. It's actually completely fucked up that someone sincerely valuing good on their own without being forced into it is unrelatable in our society.
Society tends to kill such people, or otherwise neutralize them. No one wants to watch a story about a homeless person trying to be ethical, and their origin story is even less compelling because it's an inverse cindarella story with an implicitly anti-moral lesson
