Might just be because I study in a biotech-adjacent field, but I argue that "degrowth/anti-industrial" people should massively support biochem/genetics research, because there is large potential for some industrial processes to be replaced by molecular-biological ones.
People should think of climate change as a deadline for achieving the singularity rather than an argument for primitivism. Conservatives should embrace climate change as the ultimate "don't rock the boat" or "don't change horses in mid-stream".
