The new rich are disproportionately a kind of strange hyperanimal, whose intelligence is entirely the faculty of their impulses, while old money are disproportionately more ascetic. Dunno what to make of this but it's on my radar.
To win crushingly hard at a randomly chosen artificial game of some sort, duh. Whether it's moralism or capitalism or aesthetics.

The generic impulse to win hardest inevitably devolves into cheating, gimmicks, and metagame shenanigans. I'm talking about the true, anal-retentive obsession with rule for rules sake, form for forms sake, etc.
