I lose ~10 followers every time I post trans shit, in any context, but I don't care. There seems to be some evidence that people w/o sensitivity to estrogen in the womb (and therefore out of it) wind up trans disproportionately. Which sort of justifies the hon=truetrans formula

As far as autism is concerned, autists are more androgynous than neurotypicals. It's not hard to see how this would translate into a higher rate of gender dysphoria (it's easier to push a more androgynous brain into developing the opposite way than expected).

what does "legitimate" mean here? I mean, I see how there might be multiple types of trans people with different reasons and desires for transition, but what establishes the legitimacy of one over the other?
-
I support bodily autonomy without limit, but it seems clear to me that some trans people have motives ungrounded in medical need. So by "legitimate" I just mean that they're female in some biological sense, genetically or phenotypically, before transition.

As if we don't already know that homosexual transsexuals are repressed gay men who have got so caught up in their sexual fantasies of actually being women that they want to transition. Hence the obsession with having bottom surgery. I wonder how offended they'd be by that? :p

Eh. It's all just the same meme of people trying to justify themselves to some higher authority. It's amusing that many people haven't gotten beyond biological teleology and "if it's natural its good". To me such differences mean little.

The discourse is rather confusing too because it bathes in essentialism. What does "female" mean that should justify brain scans as a locus for concern? It reads to me as a reductionist outlook where one trait is seen as a decisive mechanism.
