For instance, you have a generally libertarian outlook but also support (as in, don't even acknowledge the badness in a "gee, how unfortunate" sort of way) industrial scale harm to animals, whereas fascists have a generally authoritarian outlook but support animal rights. etc etc

tbh i do think more humane farming is a nice-to-have, i just don't give vegans any ground on it because it's the dishonest point of a wedge

I think animal harm obligates an eventual transition to synthetic meat, & that harm in general as an unavoidable consequence of biology obligates an eventual transition away from biology into artificial consciousness. Trying to force society to make "better decisions" won't work.
