In the beginning, trans and gay were both subsumed under the label of gay. Then transsexualism was medicalized, around the same time gay rights became a thing. Then mostly white gay men wanted nothing to do with less respectable trans people. Then trend trans. Then boomers.

all righty then. none of that is true except "[cis] gay white men wanted nothing to do with less respectable trans people", and thats only almost true bc *no* trans person was respectable in that era. transness has always been medicalized, also. its been a long fight for IC.

"in the beginning" of what exactly? Gay and trans movements have ebbed and flowed in strength and solidarity since the late 19th Century push to abolish sodomy laws. Being trans has been "medicalized" for over a hundred years. Gonna need to see some labels on your timeline bub.
