The perils of intersectionality. First LGBT because transgenderism was unmedicalized, then LGBT to try to sympathetically absorb the respectability of white gays, then gays counter by aestheticizing your medical condition for hipster points then boomers weaponize it at face value

In the beginning, trans and gay were both subsumed under the label of gay. Then transsexualism was medicalized, around the same time gay rights became a thing. Then mostly white gay men wanted nothing to do with less respectable trans people. Then trend trans. Then boomers.
