Well ya see, there are these nifty things called holsters and slings that allow one to carry more guns than just using their two hands.
So what, you're thinking of something like The Matrix where they're loaded down with a dozen different guns and go all John Woo guns akimbo? There have been spree shootings where people had multiple guns. I don't think there's any correlation to increased death count.

Not a dozen just more than two. The fact that more bullets per minute can be achieved by switching guns vs reloading is enough evidence. Unless you think grabbing a new gun is slower...

Lets say they have three guns with the large capacity mags. They could use all three before having to reload. I bet that that means more time firing and killing people.
