Is it morally permissible to spend 100 hours writing an effective altruism paper no one is going to read when those 100 hours could have been spent volunteering at a soup kitchen?
Replying to @NinaStrohminger @insurrealist
Volunteering at a soup kitchen is terribly ineffective. In general helping anyone in the first world is ineffective resource usage, you should just let them die and help much cheaper to help Somalis or whatever.
