What are the pacifists of the world expecting to happen? For their opponents to spontaneously feel really guilty and collectively drop what they're doing? Or is pacifism just about feeling, like, metaphysically superior to other people who still destroy you in the physical realm.
So that's a virtue ethics approach to pacifism, which is fine. Probably there is very little that can effect anyone's actions either way, pacifist or non-pacifist. But if there is something that can effect other people's actions, and their actions are unfathomably bad, I dunno.

"Affecting other people's actions " is called power and it's always an option. Some people just don't want to handle the problem of deciding how to use power.
