One approach to morality is to decide that we can only control our own actions. So it's best to do no wrong oneself, even if that means one is incapable of affecting the actions of those doing wrong.

So that's a virtue ethics approach to pacifism, which is fine. Probably there is very little that can effect anyone's actions either way, pacifist or non-pacifist. But if there is something that can effect other people's actions, and their actions are unfathomably bad, I dunno.
