I never got into those types of games. I think you need to acquire the taste when you're young- otherwise, it seems like too much investment. But then again, I'm not much of a grand strategist unless I'm playing korean five-year-olds at go.
Oh I'm not either. The only two games I was ever even "ok" at were Andamiro's Pump it Up (and even then, a specific variant by a subcontractor that was my best version), and Texas Hold 'em Poker. And I wasn't good enough to reliably make money at either. I play Civ on Chieftain.

I bought Victoria II which is supposed to be a "hard-core" strategy game and I keep re-downloading it onto new computers without but hardly playing it. Someday...
