I used to write papers where I’d say things like “intuitively, P,” or “intuition suggests Q,” etc. But I’d sometimes get pushback complaining about relying on intuition. So instead I now go with constructions like, “Prima facie, P seems plausible.” Problem solved.

I just write WLOG everywhere and hope that the person reading my proof never actually thinks about it
