Interesting, I was (as a man) ostracized growing up & now I have pathological issues around belonging to groups.

It's okay, that's actually where I wanted to go with that fact about myself anyway: maybe this is a common trend around here, do other people have similar experiences? What was the longterm effect? Thank you for the sympathy tho :)

yes and yes. another potential longterm effect is skepticism of socially enforced messaging. it has a certain smell to it and it's very easy for me for tell when something is being said for purposes of social enforcement instead of information sharing.
