I agree with the reasoning but it would take much less than p = np to make crypto scientifically unfeasible. Like if quantum computers totally work but we can't shrink them like regular PCs, so big firms will be able to crack anything that consumer products do.
I really don't want quantum computers to scale, because I am afraid they are capable of simulating consciousness and I don't want everyone to be able to do that.
