For a while I used to use performative emotion in conjunction with positions I actually held to suggest they were jokes, while at the same time using them in conjunction with positions I did not hold in mixed proportion to suggest some of them were jokes and some of them were not

Even though that's basically social suicide if you crank it up to 11. Although wait, I actually still do that.
Anyway, it's amazing to me that you can fundamentally break even a very intelligent person just by doing this, such is the average person's reliance on tone and presentation over content.
