Something interesting I realized about the stigma over IQ discussion is that boasting about IQ is a perfectly valid thing to discriminate over precisely because IQ is so strongly correlated with success.
That is, the sort of person who boasts about a high IQ instead of achievements is the sort of person who has no achievements to boast about, which means the only people who boast about high IQ are the sort of people who have managed to fail at life despite having a high IQ

The life of an intelligent person is really about laundering intelligence into socially acceptible signals like credentials that they can pretend were a result of hard work instead of innate ability.

Everyone hates innate ability. A person who has never found anything they've done to be work is treated the same as a person who has never been able to do work, or a person who has refused to work.
