Sometimes I think of disfunctional human social systems as being like the murder cube in the cube movies, only there's some purported treasure hidden in it, so people keep getting sent into the meat grinder to try to map out the moving rooms and traps.
Obviously the only solution is a kind of social prophylaxis to prevent this, for which triggering people is the most reliable detection mechanism.
