I want to reconfirm that I advocate for policies & regulations that'll result in real GHG discharge reductions. But what the Trudeau government is proposing, at this time, appears to be much more "for show" than "for real", just as ratifying the Kyoto Protocal was for Chretian.

GHG increases between 2014 and 2018: BC and Quebec. If Quebec's fairly aggressive 2035 reduction target (14% below 2018 levels) is doable and leading, how can the Govt of Canada rationalize legislating the Paris Agreement 2030 nation-wide GHG limit?

Quebec houses 23% of Canada's population. So the media now tells us that when a province with 23% of our population commits to deliver 14% of our soon-to-be legislated 2030 nationwide GHG reduction obligation, up to 5 years past the 2030 deadline, that is "leadership". Which ...4

Here we go again... Quebec "leads" by declaring they will cut GHGs to "37.5% below 1990 lebels by 2035". But the government of Canada is about to bind all Camadians to an absolute nation-wide GHG cap of 30% below 2005 levels by 2030. 30% below 2005 levels means, as a nation...2

put off ratifying the Law of fhe Sea agreement (and other precedents) until after we were, effectively, in full compliance with it--to not expose Canada to failure-to-comply tariff risk. (Domesticly legislated GHG limits is even riskier, in this regaed, than treaty ratification.)

to comply with the legislated GHG limits, our trading partners can hit our exports (not just GHG-intensive goods and services) with tariffs to oenalize us for that failure, even if/when those other nations have not committed to similar or any such limits. That is why Canada ...3

Please jote that total tests/1M pop does not represent the fraction of the total popluation that has been tested. If each person in the White House or on a baseball team is tested every 2nd day day, then after a year that is 182 tests, but only one person.
