Almost every single "fact" you've heard about the global fashion industry's effect on the planet is wrong. My latest for by (Don't angry @ me before you read the whole thing. It will be obvious.)

To sum up these views: "I believe individual actions matter but I probably won't take them." However, there's a silver lining. The cheapest, most convenient product is one that you don't buy. So take action by not shopping! (I know that's not new either but ppl forget.)

Nothing new here. Majority of consumers think individual actions can help save the planet. But they will only buy "green" products that are cheap, convenient, and high quality. 1/2

Today, I am pleased to announce a bold and ambitious commitment: I change my diet to go 100% healthy food by 2050, and 45% healthy food by 2030 relative to my diet from 15 years ago when I was a college freshman.

But all we get are designers, influencers, and entrepreneurs and their “fairytales of eternal economic growth” and “consumer education.” Enough already! We. Are. Out. Of. Time.

I want to see a panel of PhDs from India, toxicologists, industrial ecologists, labor organizers from Bangladesh, researchers, ppl who’ve set foot in a cotton field or a textile factory and aren’t on the marketing payroll. I want them to tell me the answers.

If you invite me to your panel where your sponsors talk about their little capsule collection of recycled polyester, I hope you’ve prepped them for the Q&A. Because I am ready to bring the heat.

I'm not sure where the "eco" comes in, though: the plastic faux fur or the plastic faux leather? Please explicate!

NYC, I have a list of my own fashion complaints that I’m hoping you can address: Slave labor, microfibers in our water, poverty wages, toxic finishes, planned obsolescence, greenwashing, accelerated trends...where’s you legal action on those?

Bangladesh's garment industry at the heart of future of jobs and automation debate. We visit a factory where a new laser machine can do the job of 50+ workers. Safer working environment but will it put 4 million+ jobs at risk?

Today’s date is a rare eight-digit palindrome (reads the same, forward and backward), 02/02/2020 — the only one of its kind this century: The previous eight-digit palindrome like this was 11/11/1111, 909 years ago. We’ll only have to wait another 101 years for 12/12/2121.
