Nice job with that “Pilot” program @ChicagoDOT - this fella is “piloting” his “geofenced” scooter at Clark and Hubbard. One mile east of the “Pilot Area.” I predict a November vote to ban this crap.pic.twitter.com/jEoKVBqwZG

I like the scooters. I wish they’d come to the loop.

Between the Tourist @DivvyBikes that don’t pay attention to regular bike lanes and laws, and the insanity of scooter mayhem that I’ve personally seen in the west loop, I can’t wait for these NOT to be here. Brendan has this right, no scooters!!!

Boy wait until you hear about cars. They drive in the wrong lanes, park wherever they want, blow stop signs and lights: lots of similar issues as scooters. But! They're much larger, much more dangerous, and terrible for the environment. They gotta go!pic.twitter.com/7eJMTjQ4Pq

Agree, on keeping the scooters. Maybe not opening it up to the CBD. These small # of errors are really insignificant to the total number of rides.

Recent history in other citys suggests otherwise. One things is clear. @ChicagoDOT is failing to provide safe effective 21st century transportation. Rules of the road need serious updates and users of the “new transport” modalities must show some respect for others.

They're having fun and getting home safely. On the other hand the experiment with cars has been a total DISASTER. I predict we are finally coming to our senses, realize we are killing ourselves, and find better, healthier options like walking, biking, etc..pic.twitter.com/hkNUp5TjbZ

What are scooters 🛴 riders going to do when the hit pedestrians? Most scooters drivers do not have adequate liability insurance nor enough resources to pays for the damage they cause.

Here's a selection of the many drivers "piloting" their "machines" outside the "geo-fenced" area reserved for them. This "car" pilot is obviously an utter fail. Time to bring it to an end and cut our losses.pic.twitter.com/Wowws17izS

Alderman it'd be cool if we could approach these violations with the same fervor as we do scooters.
