    FYI, this isn't just aimed at America. Look at the UK politics and elsewhere and you see the same thing. People defending actions and policies which they would condemn were it another party or politician doing them.

    One of most overlooked checks in politics is power of precedent. If you believe in democracy, rather than just your party, you have to accept that someone else may be in power in the future and what you allow now will mean allowing them to get away with things then.

    I’ve been working on this policy for ethical Indigenous research at Memorial U for a year and a half with many, many others. It’s several hundred years late & one of the first of its kind. It’s in the consultation stage now. The more input the better!

    I don’t think it is petulant to signal disgust in a setting that has been taken over by noise, in which only theatre registers. Meanwhile Dems are criticized no matter what they do. If they're dignified: too passive. If they respond, they're demeaning themselves. Etc.

    Every single one a lie. How did it cost us natural resources? How did it prevent us controlling borders/deporting criminals - it did not: How did it cost us billions - it did not; net economic benefit was 5-10 times our contribution. I feel sorry for you.

    Trade was not free with the EU. It came at a democratic price unpalatable to the British. It cost the UK our natural resources, our ability to deport criminals, control our borders and billions of tax payers £. No other trade agreement has been so costly to the UK in its history

    On 4th February 211 the Roman Emperor Septimius Severus died at York. Severus used South Shields as a base for his Scottish campaign. His sons Geta and Caracalla sailed to Rome from Shields after their father's death. Picture altar on display marking their return
