preach. normalizing volumes isn't rocket science... I've got 30 different apps, but we can't get the ads to be at a bearable level between episodes of a show
TVs should all have compressors in them. I swear I have to change the volume non stop during movies.

Dialog vs action in movies have always been an issue. Technically you can do it yourself. It's a process but I discovered it when mixing my own

It's the worst with commercials, even after there was some sort of legislation limiting how much louder commercials can be than the shows, there's still an undeniable difference in volume.

It’s because they put the speaking volume at the highest allowed volume. So basically the sound of commercials are similar to the sound of screaming and explosions in the movie
