Asian Americans are the only POC I know of that actually become LESS woke after getting into Social Justice.
The sheer dearth of contextualizing anti-Asian racism through the lens of both domestic and world history is actually quite astonishing. Quite simply, we are taught not to care about our own humanity or the unspeakable crimes committed against us.
I have literally been boggled by the utter ignorance of some of my people with regard to the global history of anti-Asian racism. And this, ostensibly from people that are supposed to be activists and experts for us! Why are y’all so profoundly uneducated?
“Model minority”, “model minority”! Shut the fuck up. Y’ALL ARE THE MODEL MINORITY. You want to destroy any accountability or transparency within the community for actions that uphold our “junior partner” (AKA “house negro”) status, rather than actually fighting for parity.

Y’all can’t even talk about Chinese Exclusion and Japanese internment, two of the only major anti-Asian incidents that are taught in American schools, in an intelligent manner and how those laws and practices were passed in 4 majority Anglo countries SIMULTANEOUSLY! 
To sum it up: my assessment of the Asian American social justice scene as an Asian man is that it’s wack af and does not at all fulfill its function of education, organization, and protection. Its politics are toothless, bc y’all “bought in” to the idea of model minority
