Agreed, but I do think that emphasizing the genius and wealth-producing power of markets is important.

I mean is it even an issue? As long as people are seriously suggesting getting rid of markets—and no one is, really—then we can just focus on the intersection of those markets and the necessary government restrictions of them.

There is ignorance on both sides. Many "supporters" of capitalism don't understand the concept of Markets, or even the basic idea of Free Trade. ...not a good example of being a bit worse. Mexico is even less socialist than the US. Just because a state runs a company, doesn't mean they're doing it for socialist reasons. Profit over the greater good, in this case. Capitalism currently controls the game & sets the rules...

The problem with that is it leads to a system where you take care of the poor, which the right doesn't want, and where Accounting majors have higher socioeconomic standing than Sociology majors, which the left doesn't want.
