Here's the same logic applied to an even more basic property of evolutionary theory: 1. Death before childbearing age is the engine of evolution. 2. Some people want to get rid of death before child-bearing age. But you can't! See #1! 3. Thus, YOUNG DEATH RULES!

Oh it’s just the worst of the naturalistic fallacy, but it’s such a common fallacy because it is compelling for so many people who have been taught to worship various illusions of nature. I understand why people fall for it. But it’s still just goop for conservatives.

it's too bad there is only 1 naturally occurring animal and therefore we have to be exactly like that single, solitary extant animal

It baffles me how he rails against "post-modernists" for casting all relationships in terms of power, but then insists on dominance hierarchies without noticing that they are all instances of power relationships.

Does anyone have the link to that amazing thread by a woman, who actually studies lobsters, in which she absolutely shredded Peterson’s analogies? I need to share that to a friend who is in danger of falling for his schtick.

I’m not a fan, but that’s not his logic champ. He argues hierarchies are frequently based on competence. And that modern life is dependent on these productive structures. Correct me if I’m wrong...but if you’re going to be pompous on Twitter, you could at least be accurate.

Yeah, this is the type of post that's crafted to appeal to his less knowledgebale or sophisticated fans. A simple straw man. And attributing the "libtard" slur to JP is shitty too. It's sad to see such poor anti-JP arguments, when there are so many good arguments to be made.
