Saved by Strike Team XAL 2011A at the #CampFire--this donkey was running along HWY 70 at Big Bend Rd when FFs from Alameda County were able to get its attention. The Strike Team Leader contacted the Division & Animal Control responded to the scene w/ a large trailer to transport.
This evening, ACFD Station 25 was alerted by park goers, across the street, that a seagull was tangled up in what appeared to be kite string hanging in a tree. Crews quickly jumped into action and rescued the seagull. #ALCOFIRE

ACFD is currently on scene of a vehicle inside Trader Joes Market on Redwood Road in Castro Valley. Crews are currently assessing the building for hazards and injured persons. This is a developing situation, and more information will be released later.
In anticipation of tonight's weather advisory. The ACFD will be staffing additional units in the eastern portion of the County and canyons. Three extra engines will be staffed for 36 hours. This is in addition to the usual 33 engines, 7 trucks, rescue and 4 battalion chiefs.
