We need to see equality of opportunity in schooling and University entrance firstly, obviously the influence then of gender and ethnicity at the highest level of academia would follow on but after 10 or more years unfortunately. I am for more women in Engineering.

It’s so demoralising. A similiar article has been written every year for the last 4-5 years and there is no sense of urgency from university leadership.

Of course, amongst these figures of BME Professors, only those actually in a British University are officially recorded. Externally academics are often unpaid, without contacts and unrecorded. As known experts, how can we perform under such insecure work and economic conditions?
