Meet Kalavati Devi who has been on a decades-long effort to build more toilets in rural India. As many as 500 million people in India still lack access to toilets, which makes preventable diarrhoea a leading cause of child mortality.

Interesting to see that hydroponic businesses in India have enough of a market available to grow. Done right, the process can save >80% of the water needed to grow leafy greens. Works on degraded land too, but it's energy intensive.
