Just took a macro picture of it and I see red pixels.

Those are called subpixels. (Screen colour is determined by ratio of three RGB subpixels, which together make up one pixel.)

Also the train appears to be on time although the pixels are not.

Since it's a German train, it's a wonder that they're on the tracks at all, considering the current weather (roughly 0°C in Berlin)
