If the same colouring technique is used for both images, how much difference is noticed in the intensity of the illusory red between an image of something we know should be red (eg. strawberries) and something we know isn't red (eg. a banana). i.e. how important is the context?
Do you mean a cognitive (memory) effect? It might contribute to color perception to some extent, but I think the major part is determined on perception level. I hope you will see a bluish pumpkin in the attached image, though the pixels are reddish.pic.twitter.com/6dyltV2u54
