Can you explain what this is supposed to be doing? Are you saying that the left eye is the same colour as the jewel in the hair, but that it looks darker? Because the text doesn't say that.

I thought it was pretty clear. Both eyes are the same color, the color filter is not applied to the left eye. But because your brain thinks the filter is applied to the eye, it changes the perceived color (to the something close to the jewel, but it's not the point)

I'm calling BS on this illusion. I looked at the left eye after masking ask the surrounding colour and it wasn't any different. This particular illusion seems doctored.
