Argue that the decision to move patients across to cross sex hormones is robust and made separately. Judge asking for details of what is discussed at this meeting. Defence say pros and cons of the hormone treatment. No assumption of what pathway to take and one of many options

Initial referral made by social service or GP so already they will be a layer of safeguarding oversight as to whether this is gender dysphoria or another issue. In subsequent meetings clinicians discuss romantic relations with children they are not shied away from.

Whilst some children still disgusted by sex many 12 or 13 year olds already having sex so can't make a 'global statment' that any child is nessiscerly incapable of understanding these matters. Judge asks if you would ask a 9 year old the same question as a 15 year old

Defence argue most referred are 15 but 9 year olds have a seperate referral process. One criteria is that you must reach tanner stage 2 which means would be the start of sexual gendered feelings. Must be individualised as some children more sexually mature

Defence argue that as some people are asexual it is difficult to know if a child expressing disgust would grow up to be interested as sex. Maybe they are asexual. Takes time to see if their understanding changes over time.
