While the prospect of sustainable peace is still unclear the Global community in particular the @UN has an important role to play
solidarity and commitment of the international community to ensure Afghan youth and women’s future is not traded away will ensure a sustainable peace
United Nations is expected to become the guarantor of Afghan Youth and women’s rights in the peace agreement. While Member States are already engaged in this effort, there is much more that can be done if we work together.
Ensuring that the peace process is literally Afghan led and Afghan owned and that the international community is genuinely committed to provide concrete support for the intra Afghan negotiations will foster the Afghan peace process.
Afghan Youth and Women’s priorities are the priorities of all Afghans.
These priorities must be included in the peace process not because they will benefit Women, but because they will benefit everyone.
