It doesn't sound weird to me. I'm a non-believer but I feel a deep sense of connection to a shared Jewish experience and history, I'm part of a community and I celebrate the festivals of the Jewish year despite an uncomfortable feeling of having been torn from the root of belief.

The scale of the displacement in a idlib is mind boggling. Over one million people have fled since the beginning of the offensive, now it’s reaching crisis point as people flood toward the relative safety of the border areas to espace the bombing.

Every time the Defenders of Corbyn are replying to criticism of him, at least one of them is patronisingly suggesting that critics read the works of genocide denier Noam Chomsky.

I welcome and support reforms and reinterpretations within religions because the general progression helps people in real terms. But in the long term I agree with this.

I follow almost 8k people, but this would be true if I followed 6. A follow is not an endorsement. I am not morally responsible for tweets I often don’t even see. Also, I follow people I actively disagree with. It’s how I keep perspective and from falling into the echo chamber 🤷🏻‍♀️

Brits are famous for not speaking other languages (62% speak only English, worst in Europe) and if it wasn't for the sinister undertone of racism I'd find it hilarious that so many still manage to look down on other people speaking different languages.

Caligula's approach to literary prizes was fun: "those whose efforts had particularly failed to please were ordered to erase what they had written either with a sponge or by licking up the ink (unless, that was, they preferred to be beaten with rods or thrown into a river)."

Someone asked me what kind of difference my makes. As a Muslim my enables me to develop friendships that cross religious and denominational boundaries, and grow in community together, and by doing so I'm changed by interfaith encounter.

Ten years ago today, The Lancet retracted Andrew Wakefield’s fraudulent 1998 article claiming the MMR vaccine caused autism. He performed procedures on children unethically, paid kids at a birthday party to give him blood samples, and doctored data. He still claims he was right.

Therapist treating my elderly mother and talking to us both about karma. Mum asks what did karma mean for the Jews during the Shoah. “Ah” she replies. “With their attitude of being above everyone else they had to expect something to happen to them”.
