'It is important for the Government to welcome the commitment and put it into law. The aviation industry is outside the UK's formal carbon budgets. [Putting the commitment into law] would put a brake on growth'

UK aviation's net zero plan 'not credible' says AEF's Cait Hewitt on 's Sarah Jane Mee show 'They can promise what they like because they are not being held to account for their emissions – [allowing them] to get the permission to grow they so desparately want'

'One concorde on departure had equivalent noise energy to 120 Boeing 757s – so one 757 every 2 minutes for 4 hours, produced the same Leq as 2 mins of concorde followed by 3 hrs 58 mins of silence' Just one aviation accounting fraud - interested?

Strategy of "pile it high & sell it cheap" works for tins of baked beans, or a vegetable market. But it is a tragedy that the aviation industry - with SO MUCH CO2 emitted per unit sold (air ticket) has got itself into the mess, of such low margins per pax, it must sell at volume

Paul Beckford, policy director of the No 3rd Runway Coalition on crazy claims by "Sustainable Aviation" at its members that aviation can become net-zero carbon by 2050, while increasing carbon emissions every year, from endless growth in flights and passengers.

An immensely strong, eloquent and moving plea from Lyn Brown MP to stop the development of environmentally damaging projects like the 3rd Runway at Heathrow.

I think I speak for most friendly independent climate advisory bodies when I say I’d like to see this business sorted out sharpish. It’s very important that the UK is brilliant in the presidency and that Scotland is brilliant as the host for this summit.

Letter countering the deliberately misleading BackHeathrow leaflet on Heathrow and carbon emissions Heathrow lobbyists want us to (gullibly) believe electric planes will be the answer. They will not.

Comment by Tim Johnson of on failure of governments to put any meaningful controls on aviation carbon emissions, even though the industry sets itself aspirational goals, which it does not meet (and cannot meet). Industry needs to be properly held to account by government

Government must now hold industry to account to deliver on its net zero commitment by formally including international aviation emissions in the UK net zero target

I don't know whether these people are cynical and will say anything to carry on expanding aviation or whether they are so ignorant they just don't get how serious the climate crisis is.

Sustainable Aviation's carbon roadmap should not give the industry a green light to grow without a Government plan in place to limit emissions. To date, industry goals have failed to prevent absolute aviation emissions from increasing. AEF reaction
