Because of the nature of the UKCTOCS study, long standing v new onset diabetes were not reliably separated although suspect latter is what’s driving the #PancreaticCancer link. Also, CA19-9 - for all its warts - is still the biomarker de jour to beat in PRE-diagnostic samples.

How do we actualize this recommendation? “Streamlining the GT process in medical oncology clinics by decreasing the amount of work necessary for oncologists and directly integrating germline GT into the appointment” could increase testing rates in patients with #PancreaticCancer

Another paper on the appallingly low rates of “universal” germline testing in patients with #PancreaticCancer (which has been both & for a while now). Only a third were tested, lower in minority patients. In by Dr. . ascopubs.org/doi/10.1200/PO

Abysmally low rates of germline genetic testing in cancers like #PancreaticCancer for which universal testing has been @NCCN guideline for some time. Germline genetic testing is standard of care, yet not sure how many oncologists are having this convo. link.springer.com/article/10.124
