I was in Rome in 2013 covering the resignation. On Feb 28 Benedict met with Cardinals to say goodbye - McCarrick among them. If Vigano is correct, seems odd. McCarrick was staying at American Seminary and gave many interviews to many journalists including me before conclave.
Kopy is one of the finest public servants I’ve ever dealt with starting with his time . A straight shooter. No BS. Great manager. Dedicated -he jumped into a river once to save a little girl.
I know he’s been thinking about retirement for awhile Wish him all the best
