When Afghans ask questions about the nature of peace talks, substance of the conversations, or the composition of participants, they're not anti-peace and it is not for them to prove that they really favor peace. When rights are at stake, skepticism becomes a responsibility.
But it *is* the responsibility of the Taliban to convince everyone that they have evolved. They can do this by offering details of their "changed" veiws on women's public participation, for example. And they can do it outside/during/beside the talks. Speak directly to the people
And it *is* the responsibility of the US & its NATO partners to ensure everyone whose futures are at stake because of their talks that those talks will include the people, answer their concerns. Afghans shouldn't be on the outside looking in *and* get branded anti-peace.
