Starting to worry that the field of “Why Trump Won Studies” is becoming what Lakatos would call a “degenerating research programme.” A lot of time spent just tweaking old theories instead of pushing forward with exciting new advances.

We need a scientific revolution. Who will be our Newton, our Darwin, our Einstein of explaining why Trump won?

Just to spell that out, is what you mean that Peter Thiel is part of the reason Trump won?

Maybe. What I’m saying is that he is deeply involved. Probably more than most know. He’s also fairly insightful so he may have something to say.

Ok, but if I absolutely forced you to make a Y/N vote instead of “maybe,” you would say, Yes, Thiel is part of the explanation for how we got Trump—is that right?

Idk I’d probably say No although his vote and recommendation count I’m not sure how involved he was prior to his donation. But he is cunning and intelligent with a lot of behind the scenes access so I expect him to have something to say when this is over.
