I am tired of defending mimetic theory. Many girardians use it to make money or be proud of themselves, new ways of being cruel, unsensitive. They don't really care of poor people. From René Girard to mother Teresa, many conversion possibilities remain. I work gratis for sharks.

For some sharks at least, and that's even too much. I consider mimetic theory as a science but girardism as a snobbery : books, books, books, while poor people are suffering and environment is being rapidly destroyed. A new kind of subtile hypocrisy and vainglory, sometimes.

In my own family, an entrepreneur. He has always been interested in neurosciences, then in mimetic theory, but to sell stuff and to manipulate people, not to be a better person !!!

Replying to @GirardForum
Many entrepreneurs and investors come to Mimetic Theory through Thiel. Are you anti-capitalist? Are entrepreneurs (capitalists) evil? Anti-technology? Girard himself talks of how entrepreneurs are often scapegoats of society, evil men who only care about the $$$

I don't think anything about capitalism. I don't like it but know no interesting substitute. Maybe it will transform itself in a better thing, maybe it will cause global collapse, I don't know.

Well, we can’t go back. And in the mean time people in cities need food delivered via semi trucks. Business and entrepreneurship take care of that. There are problems with it but demonizing entrepreneurs is not the answer. The LOVE of money is the root of all evil.
