Just talked with another Lambda School student. No one in his family ever finished more than 8th grade. He's been on the verge of homelessness during all of Lambda School, had to travel every day just to get Internet. Got multiple job offers this past week. $70k is the *lowest*.
This is awesome, interested about ratio with cost of living or median family income in area of job though.

What do you mean?

70k/yr is amazing for a grad pretty much anywhere. A lot of schools show their salary stats but don’t show that in relation to cost of living in the area where students obtain position. One should make more in SF than in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
-
Yes, once we have more we'll release detailed numbers by geographic area. For reference the 70k referenced was in Ohio, student that got a job last week for 85k was in Michigan.
-
Impressive! I think your reporting would be easier to understand if you listed it as a percentage of expected salary at maturity (senior level) for the hiring region. The average in Detroit, MI for a Sr software engineer is $102K. So your grad there is at roughly 83% already.

True. No one has graduated yet, so we didn't expect _anyone_ to have a job by now. We'll get really good at reporting
