I continue to research data analytics and bioinformatics with a meeting tonight, but funding for primary project may take some time and lead in new directions. I continue to be optimistic about the future of biosciences with respect to imaging and computer analysis.
The allocation of capital is often seen as an amoral task performed by amoral people. Yet the task is cloaked in almost sacred importance in the giving of alms and distribution of capital to charitable and non financial profit centers.

I suppose my current efforts are to realize the importance of large goals that often choke out smaller visions and to let those smaller visions die. One can get caught up in the best local option and fail to realize the grander vision that could be scaled out of it.

Furthermore there is an ideological cult of the entrepreneur that strongly encourages speed and hard work at the cost of good ideas and strategic thinking. Speed and hard work are often of absolute necessity, but busying oneself with hasty actions can lead to missed opportunity.

Furthermore this cult produces entrepreneurial fashions most commonly revealed in the flow of MBA graduates and sour grape drop outs. Focus on what remains interesting to you and for which you have a particular talent and ignore whether it is fashionable.

This is much harder than it seems and it may just happen to be that what you are interested in happens to be fashionable although which came first? I am currently strongly considering two forward actions that may be intertwined:

First is my efforts in finance and investing. Second is my efforts in personal and social understanding and practice.

The development of the first is currently in progress with a renewed focus on the fundamentals and systematic (even algorithmic) selection and execution. Analysis has moved to the “personal edge” I am considering in my second project.

The second project is a continuation of my reflections on Jordan Peterson’s Self Authoring and Big 5 with a Girardian (Oughourlian) perspective on the self further analyzed through the lens of the War strategy of Sun Tzu and Clausewitz.

The outcome of the first should be practical and experimental efforts in earning a return on investment. The outcome of the second I hope to involve a transformed self and perhaps a small article or book on the Imitatio Christi.

My involvement in Biosciences may not exceed finance and basic data analysis, but I intend to encourage, support and even work on technological improvement in scientific research and medical devices.
