One small grudge I hold against Nietzsche is that he did poison the well for me about St. Paul for a number of years. But even Nietzsche (I note) could not bring himself to attack Christ. He was not, after all, an idiot.

That's a compliment. An idiot in the Dostoyevsky sense is someone who's absurdly polite and benevolent; someone who believes beauty can save the world.
