Loved the parts of @BarackObama speech where he talked about coming together as a country, but why then blatantly lie to the American people about a basic economic fact that the gender pay gap DOES NOT EXIST. PERIOD.

I have worked in real jobs: Concrete, Landscaping, Plumbing. NO ONE complains that there are ONLY men in those fields. Hypocritical virtue signaling and ignorance of disparities in interest and competence, IMO.

Now I’m not arguing that bias against women doesn’t exist in engineering, but I wonder if the same bias doesn’t exist in primarily female occupations like nursing where men are considered “effeminate” or “gay”.

Single minded focus on the upper quintile of income distribution without corresponding attention to the lowest quintile leads to warped view. On both ends it’s almost entirely men.

Anyway, how do you realistically fix? Is 90% of STEM being men really something that is good to fix? Why? The burden of proof for that seems to be on you. How do we know women don’t self select out of STEM like in the Northern European countries?

Far more women do STEM in China than in the US... And you don't see feminist movements there. The more you scream about your desires, the less likely you will acquire it.
