Mimetic "desire for security" exists but survival purposes are, in my opinion, more basical. Avoiding danger, eating, are biological functions, mixed with imitation but also distinct.

Yes, I see this. It is instinct. Like pulling hand away from hot stove. All movement is formulated as desire to go from place of discontentment toward more contentment. Hunger pangs. These things to me operate very mechanically, involuntarily. Perhaps that’s a distinction.
